Just to check if I got this funda right .. will this be a case of Gettier problem ?
'There will be no student in school because it is marriage season' is my belief and it is formed upon previous years' experience of visiting the schools during same time of the year previously. I HAVE to go this year to the same school again upon insistence of a functionary and find 0 attendance !
So this belief becomes knowledge , does it ??
Come up with more Gettier cases , if you may . It'll help reinforce the learnings.

ReplyDeleteSuppose someone in Dehradun office wants to know how many members are there in philosophy sub group. She walks in during lunch and sees 24 glasses kept on the table. The guard informs her that he gave 1 glass each to everyone sitting in the meeting room. Based on this she concludes that there ARE 24 members in philosophy sub group and there actually ARE 24 members (say for example) so she gets it right . Just that she didn't realize that 2 members couldn't join in due to personal engagements and owing to interest in the subject 2 members of Dehradun S.I. were sitting there at the time .
So she gets the answer right but does she have the knowledge of the same?
